Every custom stone project begins with an idea, a drawing, a reference, or an existing design. Our process brings together material selection, technical development, and fabrication to transform that direction into a finished piece.
We work with the natural characteristics of stone throughout the process, balancing design intent with material, scale, geometry, and production requirements.
01. Define
We begin by understanding the project: its application, dimensions, material direction, quantity, location, and available drawings or references.
Existing Hubway Stone designs can be adapted in size, stone, finish, and selected details, while fully custom pieces can be developed from architectural drawings, sketches, or initial concepts.
02. Develop
The concept is refined around the selected stone and fabrication requirements.
Dimensions, proportions, material characteristics, finish, structural considerations, and technical details are reviewed before production. Depending on the project, this stage may include drawings, samples, material references, or dimensional confirmation.
03. Fabricate
Once the specifications and material are confirmed, the piece moves into production.
Precision machining may be combined with carving, hand-finishing, polishing, and other specialized stoneworking techniques. Throughout fabrication, attention is given to geometry, surface quality, details, and the natural character of the selected stone.
From Workshop to Project
Finished pieces are prepared for transportation according to their size, weight, geometry, and destination. Large stone elements may require specialized packaging, freight transportation, and coordinated receiving arrangements.
For architects, designers, contractors, and other project partners, logistics can be coordinated according to the requirements of the individual project.
